Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the Israeli army had raided the towns of Ramallah and al-Bireh in the occupied West Bank on Sunday (January 14) morning. Meanwhile, the army arrested Saleh al-Arouri’s two sisters along with other people. On this incident, Al Jazeera also released a video in which the son of one of Saleh al-Arouri’s two sisters said that Israeli forces had entered his house to arrest his mother.

The son of one of the two women arrested told Al Jazeera that Israeli forces beat his mother and vandalized their house. Apart from this, photographs of his maternal uncle Saleh al-Arouri were also confiscated.
Saleh al-Arouri was killed 12 days ago in an Israeli drone attack on Dahiyah, a southern suburb of Beirut. On this, Hamas Politburo member Izzat al-Shark had said that Israel has done a cowardly thing.

Al-Arouri was a senior official in the Hamas politburo. He was known for his involvement in the military affairs of Hamas. He previously led the group’s presence in the occupied West Bank. Hamas had informed in a message on its Telegram channel that Samir Findi Abu Amer and Azzam al-Aqra Abu Ammar, leaders of Hamas’ armed wing – Qassam Brigades, were also killed. It mentioned the names of four other members of the group who were also killed.
